Position Summary

The Physical Therapist develops and implements physical therapy programs to restore function and improve physical movement. Coordinates care across an interdisciplinary team of care providers and oversees the work of physical therapy assistants, rehab aides, trainers, or other allied health professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with patients to collect medical history, evaluate current physical ability, and develop rehabilitative treatment programs aimed at maximizing function or reducing pain.
  • Use therapeutic procedures, exercises, or equipment to restore movement, strength, or flexibility.
  • Coordinate care across an interdisciplinary team and oversee the work of physical therapy assistants, rehab aides, trainers, or other allied health professionals.
  • Periodically re-evaluate patient status and modify care plans accordingly. Educate patients and families about recovery expectations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Ensure patient safety at all times.
  • Maintain compliance with Medicare and other quality initiatives.
  • Establish, follow, and enforce standards and procedures to maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment in compliance with legal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Training

Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy. Valid Physical Therapy license. Current CPR certification. Proficiency in PT evaluation, assessment, care planning, and treatment.

Physical Requirements

Includes sitting, walking, squatting, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and lift 100 pounds. Use of various equipment including telephone, writing instruments, PC, fax, and physical therapy equipment.
