Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support outpatient operations under direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. Responsibilities include packaging, labeling, and basic pharmaceutical preparation, while ensuring accuracy and safety in handling medications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of Kaiser Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Program.
• Knowledge of Federal & State laws/regulations for pharmaceutical services.
• Knowledge of current drug forms, dosage strengths, and generic & trade-name equivalents.
• Ability to learn and operate the pharmacy computer system and other equipment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift 1–50 lbs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must pass entrance exam and background check.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, perform packaging, manipulative, repetitive, and other non-discretionary tasks such as removing drugs from stock, counting, pouring, or mixing pharmaceuticals.
• Place product into containers.
• Affix labels onto containers.
• Package and repackaging activities.
• Perform other duties as required.
