Job summary

Cook County Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for the Outpatient Services at Provident Hospital. The role involves accurately filling medications, managing stock, and assisting pharmacists across outpatient services.

The position requires IL licensure, PTCB/ExCPT certification, and at least one year of experience. A 15 WPM typing speed and bilingual skills are a plus; shift is 10:00 AM–6:00 PM with some weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (proof at interview).
• Licensed as a pharmacy technician in Illinois (proof at interview).
• One year full-time experience as a Pharmacy Technician required.
• Active certification from PTCB or ExCPT required (proof at interview).
• Typing speed 15 WPM required (typing test will be administered).

Responsibilities

• Accurately fills medications and supplies for Pharmacy Services.
• Prepares stock requisitions and delivers supplies.
• Enters OTC and supply orders into the computer.
• Returns medications to stock and rotates stock.
• Operates robotic machinery after training.
• Receives prescriptions from ambulatory care patients.
• Assists pharmacists and answers phone calls and patient inquiries.
• Performs clerical tasks and maintains pharmacy areas.
