Job summary

ChristianaCare’s Pharmacy - Dedicated to getting the right drug to the right patient at the right time - is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician for the Wilmington Retail Pharmacy. Rotating day/evening shifts with weekend/holiday requirements. Responsibilities include data entry, labeling, insurance billing, and assisting the pharmacist.

The role requires H.S. diploma, PTCB certification (or enrollment in PharmD), and preferred McKesson experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• PTCB certification required unless enrolled in PharmD program.
• Associates or Bachelors in Health Science majors encouraged and must achieve PTCB within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Fill patient prescriptions, data entry, insurance billing, labeling and packaging for pharmacist verification.
• Assist the pharmacist in providing timely, efficient pharmaceutical care.
• Make medication credit and charge adjustments via the computer system.
• Return any extra medication to stock.
• Reorder medications in short supply to restock the pharmacy.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Answer telephone and greet customers courteously.
• Provide information regarding patient drug orders.
• Refer problems to the pharmacist as required.
• Orient and train new pharmacy personnel.
