Job summary

Christiana Care Health Services, Inc. is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician for the Christiana Outpatient Retail Pharmacy.

The role supports the pharmacist by filling prescriptions, handling data entry, insurance billing, labeling, and packing for verification, with weekend work and one additional weekday shift. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, outpatient pharmacy experience, and PTCB certification (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• PTCB certification required unless enrolled in Pharm D program.
• Outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fill patient prescriptions including data entry, insurance billing, labeling and packaging for pharmacist verification.
• Assist the pharmacist in providing timely, cost-effective pharmaceutical care.
• Make medication credit and charge adjustments via the computer system.
• Return any extra medication to stock.
• Reorder medications in short supply to restock the pharmacy.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Answer telephone and greet personnel in a courteous manner.
• Provide information regarding patient drug orders.
• Refer problems and drug information inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Orient and train new pharmacy personnel.
