Job summary

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for outpatient per diem work. You will assist in procurement, storage, preparation and distribution of medications under direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist.

Responsibilities include patient billing, inventory control, and accurate labeling. You will also handle sterile preparations under supervision, prep floor stock, and ensure timely stock replenishment and alignment with pharmacy procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Completion of coursework leading to Pharmacy Technician certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to work in a union environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in procurement, storage, preparation and distribution of medications under direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist.
• Responsible for patient billing, inventory control and other non-discretionary tasks related to the Pharmacy.
• Selecting the correct drug product from inventory to fill patient orders and stock orders.
• Preparation and compounding of sterile parental pharmaceuticals and chemo therapeutic agents under supervision.
• Prepack preparation under supervision and filling floor stock requests in a timely manner.
• Replaces working stocks of drugs, informs Pharmacy Buyer and assists in inventory maintenance; complies with timekeeping policies.
