Job summary

Decypher seeks a licensed Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services, including prescription review, dispensing and counseling for patients in an outpatient setting. Maintain safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance while supporting medication therapy monitoring for service members and their families.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited program, a current active license, BLS certification, and US citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy from ACPE-accredited program.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• 1 year outpatient pharmacist experience in past 36 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of pharmacist procedures.
• Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the facility's capabilities.
• Counsel patients regarding appropriate use of medications.
• Review patient profiles at dispensing to monitor medication therapy.
• Ensure prescription directions, doses, interactions, and allergies are appropriate.
• Compound medications as required.
• Ensure accuracy of products prepared or processed by staff.
• Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals, especially scheduled substances.
• Maintain records and security of all scheduled controlled substances.

Job Summary:

The Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical services, including prescription review, medication dispensing and compounding, patient counseling, and monitoring of medication therapy to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate treatment. The Pharmacist ensures medication accuracy and regulatory compliance, supervises pharmacy inventory and controlled substances, maintains required records and security, and collaborates with healthcare providers to resolve potential medication-related discrepancies or safety concerns.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA or ARC.
• License: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist.
• Experience: Have documented experience, ideally but not limited to 1 year, as an outpatient pharmacist in the past 36 months

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a full range of pharmacist procedures.
• Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities of the facility.
• Counsel patients regarding appropriate use of medications.
• Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing in order to closely monitor medication therapy.
• Ensure prescription directions for use, dose, medication interactions, therapeutic duplications or overlaps, allergy information, age specific dosage, and other pertinent data are appropriate for individual patients. Intervention with providers shall be made for noted discrepancy of above listed items.
• Compound medications as required.
• Ensure accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.
• Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and ensure pharmacy security.
• Maintain appropriate records and security of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulations.

Work Environment & Schedule:

Onsite. Shifts shall be 9 hours including a 1-hour unbillable lunch period. Time range for shifts shall be within 0600-1830 Monday through Friday. The time range depends on mission requirements. i.e., 0600-1500, 0730-1630, 0930-1830, etc. There is the possibility of Saturday or Sunday shifts, not to exceed 40 hours in a work week.

Physical requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently use hands and fingers for dispensing, compounding, and handling medications and pharmacy equipment, and perform repetitive fine-motor tasks with accuracy. The position requires the ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and carry pharmacy supplies as needed, operate computers and other equipment, and work safely in a pharmacy environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

Up to $124,00 per year.
