Job summary

Providence is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and direct therapy services within our hospital setting. You will restore function and prevent disability, helping patients reach their maximum level of independence and societal participation.

In addition to direct patient care, you may perform administrative tasks and contribute to safety and education programs. Qualified applicants have CA OT licensure, AOTA-trained education, and BLS certification, with experience in acute care,

Qualifications

• Graduate of the American Occupational Therapy Association training program.
• California Occupational Therapist License required upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association required upon hire.
• Experience in acute care, skilled nursing facility, outpatient, and/or subacute care settings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, directs and administers occupational therapy programs in the hospital to restore function and prevent disability.
• Assists patients to reach maximum performance and participate in society within their capacities.
• Implements admin duties and participates in department quality, infection control, safety and education initiatives.
• May orient staff and students and assume supervisor duties in the absence of the supervisor.

Evaluates, plans, directs and administers medically prescribed occupational therapy programs in the hospital to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part. Assists patient to reach his/her maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capacities. Performs administrative duties and participates in department Performance improvement, Infection control, and safety and education programs. The staff Occupational Therapist also assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Occupational Therapist Assistants and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence of that individual.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of the American Occupational Therapy Association training program.
