Job summary

Lee Health Cancer Institute in Southwest Florida is seeking an Outpatient Oncology Palliative Care Physician to provide earlier symptom support and clearer communication during active cancer treatment.

You will work with APPs, nurses, social workers, and oncology clinicians to design referral pathways, clinic workflows, and education for patients and families. This role blends direct patient care with program development to improve quality of life across the cancer care continuum.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine; eligible for Florida medical licensure.
• Strong clinical, communication, and family-centered care skills for complex oncologic needs.
• Collaborative, compassionate clinician; oncology or supportive care experience preferred, with comfort working across interdisciplinary teams.
• Interest in program development, education, clinical leadership, and sustainable care-model improvement is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient consultation, longitudinal follow-up, symptom management, and goals-of-care support for oncology patients and their families.
• Work closely with dedicated APP support, nurses, social workers, oncology clinicians, and interdisciplinary colleagues.
• Help design referral pathways, clinic workflows, patient education, quality measures, and interdisciplinary standards to support consistent access to care.
