Job summary

AMG Ortho Surgery, part of Adventist HealthCare's Outpatient Orthopedic Practice, seeks an experienced Medical Scribe to join our team and support physicians during patient encounters with real-time documentation in the EMR.

The role records histories, examinations, assessments, treatment plans, and procedures, while accompanying providers and ensuring smooth patient flow. 20 hours per week, day shift, non-exempt under FLSA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
• Coursework in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, or healthcare administration preferred.
• Previous experience as a Medical Scribe or healthcare support role preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides real-time documentation support to physicians and AP providers during patient encounters.
• Records medical histories, exam findings, assessments, treatment plans, procedures, and other information into the EMR.
• Accompanies providers during patient visits and documents encounters in real time in the EMR.
• Captures patient histories, ROS, exam findings, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up instructions as dictated.
• Documents laboratory orders, diagnostic tests, referrals, and medication changes.
• Assists providers with chart preparation prior to patient visits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
