Job summary

Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient orthopedics team in Crown Point, IN. You will implement treatment plans under the supervision of an OT, guiding patients through exercises and activities to improve mobility and function.

The role requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, knowledge of CPT/ICD-9 coding, and proficiency with EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• Current, valid state Occupational Therapist license.
• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year of outpatient OT experience preferred; strong new graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans created by the OT.
• Guides patients through therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living.
• Observes and records patient responses and progress before, during, and after therapy sessions.
• Reports patient status and adverse reactions to supervising OT; collaborates on discharge and follow-ups.
• Instructs patients and families on adaptive techniques and home safety modifications.
• Maintains accurate EMRs and clinical notes in compliance with regulations.
• Maintains a safe, clean treatment area and prepares therapy rooms.
• Other duties as assigned.
