Job summary

Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute in northwest Indiana seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to deliver treatment plans under the direct supervision of an OT. You will guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities of daily living to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function in an outpatient setting.

You will observe and record patient responses, report to the supervising OT, and support discharge planning with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Current, valid state OT license.
• Master’s or Doctorate in OT preferred.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Implements treatment plans created by the OT.
• Guides patients through the therapeutic exercises, developmental play and activities of daily living.
• Observes and records patients' responses and progress before, during, and after therapy sessions.
• Reports patient status to supervising OT and coordinates discharge/follow-ups with the health care team.
• Instructs patients and families on adaptive techniques and home safety modifications.
• Maintains EMRs and clinical notes per facility/state regulations.
• Maintains a safe, clean treatment area and sterilizes equipment.
