Zusammenfassung

Compass Oncology, part of The US Oncology Network, seeks an experienced LPN to support the Oral Therapy team at West Cancer Center in Tigard, OR. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with compensation based on experience.

The position involves nursing care for cancer patients, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and support across gynecology oncology services. Oregon license and BLS are required, with phlebotomy preferred.

Qualifikationen

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a practical nurse.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Current LPN license in practicing state.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

Aufgaben

• Screen patients for appropriate information.
• Administer treatments such as wound care, bladder scans, void trials, etc. in accordance with nursing standards.
• Assist with preparation of equipment and aid physician during examinations and procedures.
• Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to providers.
• Order/prescribe medications as directed by provider.
• Provide patient education, including pre/post operative education on procedures, medications, and recovery expectations.
• Respond to/refers incoming telephone calls and instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Escalate to RN when needed to maintain compliance with nurse practice act and state regulations for LPNs.
• Record patient data prior to physician visits (vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication reconciliation).
• Perform EKG and oximetry readings as requested by the provider.
• Send referrals, place orders, and request medical records as outlined by the provider.
• Maintain patient files and information.
• Initiate IV fluids and IV medications per state act.
• Other duties as assigned.
