Job summary

LCMC Health in New Orleans, LA seeks an Occupational Therapist to lead outpatient OT services for patients recovering from brain injury, trauma or stroke, promoting independence and safe home transitions.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses and therapists; document plans and educate families. Requires a Bachelor’s in OT, LA license, and BLS. Schedule includes 24 hours/week with occasional rotation.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited OT program.
• OT license in the State of Louisiana (LSBME).
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate occupational therapy for patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and work with physicians, nurses, and therapists.
• Maintain a safe environment and communicate with patients, families and care team members.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with measurable goals and document progress.
• Ensure continuity of care and effective handoffs within hospitalization and home setting.
