Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an Outpatient Nutrition Therapist to develop individualized nutrition care plans and provide education for patients and families. You will work with the interdisciplinary team to implement nutrition care and contribute to quality initiatives in an outpatient setting.

The role includes mentoring students, conducting nutrition education, and supporting research and outcomes measurement in line with evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree by a US regionally accredited college or university or foreign equivalent.
• Completion of an ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.
• Completion of supervised practice through a ACEND-accredited program (Dietetics Internship, Coordinated Program, or Future Graduate Program).
• Knowledge of Nutrition Care Process and Terminology (NCPT) and NFPE.
• RDN certification by CDR.
• LMNT licensure by Nebraska DHHS.

Responsibilities

• Manage medical nutrition care for nutritionally complex patients across the care continuum.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate nutrition care with overall care plans.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients, families, and the community.
• Train nutrition and health-professional students in clinical and classroom settings.
• Conduct process improvement, outcomes measurement, and nutrition-focused clinical research.
