Job summary

Michigan State University Department of Medicine seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join the Division of Internal Medicine for outpatient care. The NP will work in the outpatient clinic, either independently or as part of a treatment team, providing diagnosis, treatment, and consultations, ordering labs, and prescribing medications.

The role includes educating patients on preventative care, conducting physicals, and serving as the patient’s primary healthcare provider within a collaborative MSU

Qualifications

• Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Specialty certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Michigan.
• Credentialing and licensing requirements of Michigan must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct outpatient care services.
• Perform medical acts under supervision of Clinical Director of Internal Medicine.
• Diagnose, treat illnesses, order lab tests and prescribe medications.
• Educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
• Conduct physicals and serve as a patient’s primary healthcare provider.
