Albany Medical College seeks a full-time Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive primary care in an outpatient Internal Medicine setting, emphasizing evidence-based, patient-centered care within an academic environment.

The role involves patient visits, ordering and interpreting tests, preventive care, and collaboration with physicians and staff. Teaching and precepting NP students are possible in this collegial setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Active registration as a registered nurse/Nurse Practitioner in NewYork State.
• Prior experience in primary care or Internal Medicine strongly preferred.
• Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Interest in academic practice, teaching, and collaborative care models.
• Commitment to patient-centered, high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient visits, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Order tests, interpret results, and prescribe within scope.
• Provide preventive care and patient education.
• Collaborate with attending physicians, nursing staff, and care coordinators.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and pharmacy collaboration.
• Document care in the EMR accurately.
• Contribute to safety, quality, and continuous improvement culture.
• Engage in academic activities and precept NP students.
