Job summary

Mercy Clinic Neurology in the St. Louis area is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient neurology team at the Southfork location.

This full-time, day-shift role offers an opportunity to build relationships with patients and work closely with physicians in a collaborative clinical practice. The RN will provide professional nursing care, support physicians in evaluation and ongoing care, and participate in coordinating patient care within a busy

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, valid state nursing license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, review medical histories and chief complaints, and obtain and document vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
• Assist physicians with patient care, treatments and procedures.
• Perform nursing procedures specific to the clinical specialty.
• Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous and intradermal injections as required.
• Perform IV therapy.
• Provide patient education and reinforce individualized care instructions.
• Respond to patient phone calls, coordinate with physicians and communicate follow-up information.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Support laboratory and diagnostic procedures as needed.
• Properly handle and store medications.
• Respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations that may arise in the medical office.
• Maintain examination rooms, medical equipment and supplies.
• Follow infection prevention, safety and universal precaution standards.
• Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
• Support referrals and other clinical administrative needs to help ensure smooth coordination of patient care.
