Job summary

Renewal, Inc. seeks an experienced Mental Health Therapist to provide outpatient counseling and guidance. You will conduct intake, assessments and home with rehabilitative services, including family therapy and parenting support groups.

You will monitor visits and help clients reach personal goals, assisting reintegration into their family structure within a supportive clinical team.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of social work, psychology, counseling, public policy or related field.
• Strong communication skills to help clients express needs and aspirations.
• Proven ability to work with management, employees and clients; self-starter and adaptable to new technology.
• Proficient in problem solving, research and basic software tools.

Job description

Definition

Provide guidance, direction, and counsel clients with mental health diagnosis/histories in an outpatient setting. The individual acts as the primary contact for clients and assists them with their concerns and problems.

Mental Health Therapists provide treatment/therapy and rehabilitative services, including family therapy and parenting support groups. The therapist conducts intake and assessment, facilitates program orientation for family members, monitors and supervises visits, and works to help clients reach their goals and objectives, assisting them in reintegrating into the immediate family structure.

Eligibility Requirements

• Knowledge of Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Policy, Nursing, or other related field; strong human‑relation skills required; familiarity with diagnosing and treating clients with mental‑health disabilities and with the criminal‑justice system and community resources.
• Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently with all levels of management, employees, and clients; adept at dealing with clients and referral sources, self‑starting, motivated, and capable of adapting to new technology.
• Proficient in problem solving, research, and the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Strong communication skills to help clients express their needs and aspirations.

Masters’ degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years experience in the mental‑health field required. Licensing preferred.
