Qualifications

• Assists with rooming, vital signs, medication review and provider information.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy and assists with minor procedures as directed.
• Maintains patient safety, privacy and accurate documentation in the medical record.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents patient information, rooming data, vitals and reason for visit.
• Sets up examination and treatment rooms between cases and aids the provider.
• Assists patients to prepare for visit and supports safety and privacy during care.
• Prepares and administers medications as policy allows; may not IV medicate.
• Performs tests and collects lab specimens; processes paperwork for labs.
• Follows infection prevention protocols and sterilization procedures.
• Documents actions in the EMR and facilitates referrals/pre-authorizations as needed.
