Job summary

MedCura Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support a multispecialty outpatient clinic. Under supervision of LPN/RN, you will assist with patient preparation, vital signs, charting, and basic clinical tasks.

This entry-level role emphasizes accurate documentation, strong communication, HIPAA compliance, and collaboration with care teams across specialties; standard hours Mon-Fri with extended hours and occasional shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Current medical assistant certification or registration preferred.
• At least two years of outpatient/ambulatory care experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Record patient vital signs, height, weight, and health information; conduct screenings.
• Obtain patient histories and health/developmental data using approved tools.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist clinical staff during visits.
• Administer injections and medications as ordered by a provider.
• Perform CLIA-waived tests such as urine analysis and glucose testing.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms per OSHA standards.
• Maintain inventory of medical equipment and supplies; assist with care coordination.
• Protect patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Participate in required trainings and emergency response activities.
• Provide coverage across family medicine, pediatrics, and specialty providers.
