Job summary

American Family Care Thornton provides general medical care under licensed supervision in an outpatient clinic setting. This position works directly with a franchised location where duties and benefits can vary by franchise.

The role includes patient vitals, history intake, exam support, lab processing, immunization documentation, and coordination of referrals. AFC centers offer walk-in care and on-site labs with potential for ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
• AMT registered and AAMA Certified are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam.
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure.
• Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing.
• Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions.
• Respond to all lab messages and callback requests.
• Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations.
• Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure.
• Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis.
• Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
