Job summary

BJC Medical Group in Saint Louis, Missouri, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support the clinical care team in an outpatient setting. This role includes patient intake, basic clinical tasks, documentation, and coordination of tests and lab work.

Preferred candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and relevant certs, with under two years of experience; a few duties involve EKGs and point-of-care testing as part of daily workflow.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Certifications in area of practice required or preferred.
• Experience less than 2 years is acceptable; 2–5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, prepares and stocks supplies in exam rooms.
• Performs clinical skills such as point of care testing and EKGs.
• Maintains accurate and prompt documentation in the medical record.
• Supports outpatient encounters with patient flow, scheduling, tests and lab work.
• Assists in outpatient procedural visits with instrument setup and specimen labeling.
• Obtains patient information including vital signs and histories.
• Relays important information to the health care team promptly.
• Position considered safety-sensitive; maintain alertness at all times.
