Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program, or 1 year patient care experience.
  • CPR or BLS certification before first day of employment.
  • MA certification from one of: AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, NAHP, American Allied Health.

Responsibilities

  • Take and record patient vital signs using medical equipment and perform low-complexity procedures (e.g., visual acuity, phlebotomy, EKG).
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare rooms for care.
  • Document completion of patient care tasks in medical records and reinforce provider instructions.
  • Assist in supplies management and clinic safety checks; support preceptors and new staff.
  • Perform administrative/clerical duties such as scheduling, pre-certifications, and triage data collection.
  • Ensure patient consent forms for research and/or treatment are signed as required.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of Medical Assistant training in an approved program, or one year patient care experience
CPR certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Medical Assistant certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, NAHP, American Allied Health
