Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Certified Medical Office Assistant (CMOA) for an ambulatory care setting. You will conduct patient vitals, assist with procedures, document histories, and ensure efficient flow from intake to discharge.

New hires will undergo comprehensive orientation covering general and ambulatory training, Epic system modules, and QA procedures. Clinic locations span the Dallas–Fort Worth area, including Frisco, Coppell, and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Medical Assistant training in an approved program, or one year of patient care in a physician office or hospital setting.
• CPR/BLS certification issued by an accredited organization before first day of employment.
• Medical Assistant certification from recognized certifying bodies listed in the advertisement.

Responsibilities

• Take, record, and report patient vitals and perform low-complexity procedures (e.g., visual acuity, screening, phlebotomy, EKG).
• Escort patients to exam rooms and document care in medical records.
• Assist in maintaining clinic efficiency through scheduling, medical records, and referrals coordination.
• Maintain equipment readiness, safety, and supply stock; train/mentor new hires as needed.
• Perform administrative/clerical duties and support patient triage as directed.
