Job summary

Acadia Healthcare Henderson Comprehensive Treatment Center is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to support patients with opioid use disorder. You will deliver individual and group counseling, develop treatment plans, and coordinate aftercare and referrals within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include documenting care, performing assessments, and offering crisis intervention when needed. This full-time role emphasizes early hours and work-life balance in a growing treatment network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social or health services field is required
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings
• Familiarity with MAT (methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone)
• Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, MI) and relapse prevention
• Documentation experience per state/federal guidelines
• Familiarity with state regulations (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission)
• Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group counseling sessions
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery
• Co-facilitate group or family sessions when needed
• Ensure timely, clear documentation of patient care, treatment and incidents
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each patient
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments
• Evaluate patient needs and referrals to additional programs
• May plan for aftercare for assigned patients
• Provide crisis intervention as needed
• Perform case management ensuring individualized quality care
• Act as liaison between referrals and patients
