Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center to deliver patient-centered care for Veterans. You will assist with procedures, reinforce education, and help ensure smooth clinic flow, contributing to meaningful Veteran visits.

Ideal candidates will provide technically proficient nursing care, collaborate with RNs and physicians, and adhere to established care standards while ensuring health, dignity, and safety for those served.

Qualifications

• Active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the United States.
• Graduate of an approved LPN program.
• Ability to work within a patient-centered care team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technically proficient nursing care to Veterans in an outpatient and/or clinical setting.
• Assist with procedures and perform routine clinical tasks under supervision.
• Support pre-visit planning, rooming patients, and updating clinical records.
• Monitor patient status, administer medications as allowed, and communicate findings to the RN/MD.
• Participate in team huddles and care coordination to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
