GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This position provides quality care to patients and families to promote health and prevent disease under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs general nursing care following nursing practice standards. (30%)
• Assists with equipment preparation and supports physicians/clinical providers during treatment, examinations, and testing. (20%)
• Collects assessment data, prepares patients for examinations, and documents clinical information. (20%)
• Orders diagnostic tests as directed and reviews results prior to assessment. (20%)
• Schedules procedures and obtains necessary authorizations. (5%)
• Administers injections or medications, collects specimens, and prepares them for testing. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current state licensure as an LPN or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Clearance.

Preferred:

• At least 1 year healthcare experience.
• State-approved IV certification.
• Knowledge of OASIS documentation and assessment.
• PALS or ACLS certification may be required based on practice area.
