Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support care from birth through death in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. The LPN delivers care in-person, by phone or video, and via web-based interactions, within the defined scope of practice.

The LPN works under the supervision of the RN or supervisor, contributing to patient assessment, education, and care planning as part of a collaborative health care team.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within scope of practice for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Conducts focused assessments and reinforcement of patient education.
• Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments such as injections, ear lavages, nebulizer treatments, wound care, catheter care, and suture/staple removal.
• Supports population needs for preventive care services, chronic disease management, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assists with in-clinic procedures.
• Independently manages a nurse visit calendar and clinic workflows to support timely, coordinated care.
• Demonstrates strong communication skills and may assist with mentoring, instruction, committees, or quality improvement projects as assigned.
