Inova Endocrinology is hiring a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 for a full-time day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. This position supports patient care within a nationally recognized health system in the D.C.

Qualifications

• Education: Vocational / Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing.

• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates referrals for chronic care conditions and follow up care as indicated by care plan.
• Administers prescribed medications and therapies under physician supervision.
• Communicates with healthcare team, patients and families; supports team goals and assigns tasks to care assistants.
• Maintains and reviews patient medical records and documents care activities per standards.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinates referrals for patient chronic care conditions and follow up care as indicated by the initial care plan of the specialist and/or primary care physician.
• Administers prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies and treatments following practical nursing standards and under the direct supervision of the physician.
• Effectively communicates with healthcare team members, patients and families; Supports healthcare team members to achieve team goals and assigns appropriate tasks to care assistants.
• Maintains and reviews patient medical records, notes and physician orders; Documents all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Vocational / Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing
• License: Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Experience : 2 years of nursing practice in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association
