Job summary

Heart of Texas Region Behavioral Health Network in Waco, TX seeks a Substance Abuse Counselor/LCDC to provide outpatient services for adults with SUD, sometimes with co-occurring mental health disorders. You will conduct screenings, develop treatment plans, and deliver individual and group counseling.

The role emphasizes crisis intervention, referrals, and collaboration with schools, probation, and community resources. LCDC or LCDC-Intern is required; 40 hours/week with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires experience in mental health services and crisis intervention.
• LCDC or LCDC-Intern level II is required.
• Must have current driver's license and proof of liability insurance.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete screenings, assessments and treatment plans.
• Provide individual sessions and group counseling.
• Prepare progress notes and maintain documentation.
• Provide case management and community referrals.
• Participate in Treatment Team Meetings.
