Job summary

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is seeking a licensed addiction counselor to provide comprehensive clinical services for individuals battling opioid and stimulant use disorders in Minnesota. You’ll conduct assessments, group and individual therapy, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practices, compliance with state statutes, and participation in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Valid LADC/ADC-T licensure in MN.
• 1+ years addiction counseling experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of MN Statutes related to NBHN population.
• CPR/First Aid Certification or within 30 days of employment.
• Must pass a background check.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office and Google Suite.
• Familiar with MOUD (recommended).
• Specialized training (DBT-SUD, CBT, MI) preferred.
• Familiar with Procentive, Electronic Health Record System (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services and document assessments, group and individual therapy per NBHN policies and standards.
• Coordinate care with internal and external teams to improve client recovery outcomes.
• Participate in clinical and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Demonstrate core competencies in treating co-occurring disorders and apply ongoing training.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Support client satisfaction and retention metrics.
