Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking an experienced Registered EEG Technologist III to join the Clinical Neurophysiology Services Department. The role involves recording neurophysiologic potentials for diagnosing nervous system conditions, under supervision, using modern EEG equipment.

Qualified candidates will have a CAAHEP-endorsed END program, ABRET EEG Technician registration, at least one year of EEG tech experience, and current BLS certification. EEO employer; E-Verify participation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited END program and registration as an EEG Technician by ABRET.
• One year EEG Technician work experience required.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.

Responsibilities

• Records neurophysiologic potentials for diagnosis and prognosis of nervous system diseases using electronic equipment.
• Performs duties under supervision of EEG Coordinator, EEG Unit Leader, EEG Specialist or physician.

Job Description

The Registered Electroencephalography (EEG) Technologist III of the Clinical Neurophysiology Services Department reports to the EEG Coordinator. Under general supervision, the Registered EEG Technologist III records, by means of electronic equipment, neurophysiologic potentials for the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and conditions involving the nervous system. This position demonstrates competence and works under indirect supervision (EEG Coordinator, EEG Unit Leader, EEG Specialist or physician must be immediately available for assistance during all procedures).

Additional Job Description

Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited program of Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology or the equivalent and registered as an EEG Technician by ABRET required and must be maintained. One year EEG Technician work experience required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
