The Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health Services is responsible for overseeing the clinical, operational, and administrative aspects of the hospital’s outpatient behavioral health programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This role will lead a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, administrative staff, and support personnel and will ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing requirements. The Director will lead efforts in the planning, execution, and evaluation of services aligned with best practices in behavioral health while identifying, managing, and reporting on grant-funded programs that support and expand outpatient services.
Develop and monitor program budgets; control costs while maintaining service quality.
Identify and pursue grant opportunities to support program sustainability and growth.
Serve as the primary point of contact for funders, ensuring timely and accurate grant reporting and deliverables.
Collaborate with finance, development, and compliance departments on grant budgeting and reporting.
Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis, outcomes reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.
Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies.
Represent the department at leadership meetings and in strategic planning efforts.
Full Time, Day Shift
Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of New Jersey (required).
At least 5 years of clinical and leadership experience in behavioral health, with at least 2 years in outpatient services.
Proven experience managing and reporting on state and/or federal grant programs.
Strong knowledge of behavioral health regulations, evidence-based practices, and managed care environments.
Proficiency with electronic health records and data analysis tools.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and underserved communities.
Familiarity with HRSA, SAMHSA, or NJDMHAS-funded programs.
Experience integrating behavioral health into primary care or hospital-based systems.
