Job summary

Volunteer-Behavioral-Health-Care-System is seeking a qualified master’s level clinician to join Plateau Mental Health Center in Cookeville, TN. The role focuses on outpatient services for adults, children and adolescents with alcohol/drug issues or co-morbid conditions.

Responsibilities include intake, assessments, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and collaboration with other providers to meet care goals within VBHCS standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a master's degree in the Behavioral Sciences (social work, counseling, or psychology).
• Prefer experience in the community setting with adults who have alcohol and drug treatment issues or co‑morbid mental health problems.
• Prefer counseling experience with adults and an understanding of psychotropic medications or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow all applicable laws and VBHCS policies to maintain an ethical healthcare environment.
• Provide clinical services to outpatient adults, children, adolescents and adults with alcohol/drug treatment issues or co‑morbid health problems, including intervention, intake, treatment planning, triage, and therapy.
• Ensure documentation meets contract, licensure, and VBHCS standards; meet productivity expectations based on hours worked per month.
• Conduct clinical services including individual therapy, intakes, assessments (e.g., DLA 20, Columbia Suicide Assessment, PHQ9), discharge planning, and referrals as needed.
• Liaise with other service providers and referral sources (courts, schools, foster homes, relatives, case managers, state agencies) to achieve treatment goals.
