Job summary

Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is seeking a Coding Technician to support outpatient coding and DNFC reporting. You will work under coding leadership to ensure timely, accurate coding for straightforward encounters and help with productivity reporting.

The role requires basic coding knowledge, a high school diploma, and 6 months in health information management. CPC-A/CPC/RHIT/CCA preferred. Automation and team collaboration are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 6 months experience in Health Information Management or coding-related department.
• Completed coding certification (CPC-A, CPC, RHIT or CCA) may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the DNFC (Discharged Not Final Coded) Report daily.
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle and clinical areas to resolve problematic encounters.
• Calculate and communicate coder productivity data to HIM coding leadership.
• Perform straightforward coding tasks to ensure guidelines are met and assist with denials.
