Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years outpatient coding experience in physician offices, outpatient centers, or similar setting.
• Must hold CCS, CPC, COC, CCS-P, RHIA or RHIT certifications.
• Proficient CPT/ICD-10-CM/PCS and Medicare outpatient coding knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Research codes and abstract medical information to ensure accurate, billable outpatient coding.
• Identify coding opportunities and recommend improvements; monitor trends.
• Escalate discrepancies to management as needed.
