Job summary

Geisinger Cancer Center Hazleton is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support physicians in an outpatient setting. You will perform direct patient care, rooming, vitals, and documentation in the EMR, while ensuring safety and privacy for patients.

The role requires CMA or RMA certification and completion of an accredited MA program (certificate or diploma). A $3,000 bonus is available for eligible candidates as part of onboarding incentives.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
Certified by governing associations: NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care and clinical support for physicians in the outpatient setting.
Performs rooming, vitals, medication review, and documentation in the EMR.
Set up examination and treatment rooms between cases and assist during procedures.
Assist with patient safety, privacy, and preparation for visits.
Complete patient tests and treatments per provider orders and policy.
