Job summary

Indian Health Service is seeking a Supervisory Clinical Nurse at Gallup Indian Medical Center to provide leadership, direction, and clinical expertise in planning, delivering, and evaluating outpatient nursing services.

The role includes supervising the Walk-In Primary Care Clinic, ensuring adequate staffing, safety, and regulatory compliance, and maintaining nursing competencies across all ages. This is a federally employed nursing leadership position.

Qualifications

• Graduate or higher level degree in professional nursing education is required.
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted nursing license in the United States.
• Experience supervising in a high-volume clinic and providing clinical oversight.
• Ability to manage staffing, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates all aspects of an outpatient clinic's nursing unit with leadership and direction.
• Provides supervision for the Supervisory Clinical Nurse (SCN) role and oversees work planning and evaluation.
• Manages staffing, unit safety, and communications within the branch and staff.
• Maintains nursing competencies and leadership knowledge; covers staffing shortages as needed.
• Performs professional nursing assessments across all patient ages.

Education
