Indian Health Service (IHS) is seeking a Supervisory Nurse for the Medical/Surgical Unit 3West at Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, NM. The role oversees nursing care, staff planning, and unit operations, reporting to the Supervisory Nurse/Assistant Chief Nurse Executive-Inpatient.

Position requires active RN licensure, a nursing degree, and compliance with federal employment requirements including background checks and REAL ID readiness.

Qualifications

• Education: A graduate or higher level degree in professional nursing from an accredited program.
• Licensure: Current, active RN license in the United States.
• Minimum Qualifications: GS-12 level experience administering, coordinating, and directing clinical nursing activities.

Responsibilities

• Functions as the Supervisory Nurse with 24-hours responsibility for nursing services and nursing care in Inpatient/Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Plan work for the unit, adjusting work schedules to meet staffing and patient care needs.
• Implement personnel management procedures, training and career development plans, grievance procedures, safety practices and unit orientation.
• Collaborate with Nursing leadership to meet Division of Nursing, hospital and Federal initiatives and goals.
