Overview

Sentara Therapy BelleHarbour in Suffolk, Virginia, is seeking a full-time Outpatient Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). The COTA may assist in developing treatment plans, performing routine functions, and documenting treatment progress within the scope established by an occupational therapist. Provides age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers, supervises team members, and assumes responsibility for care provided.

The COTA performs modalities and therapeutic interventions in accordance with standards of care and departmental policies. Participates in updating formal plans of care to meet individual patient needs and provides effective instruction to patients and families through standardized or individualized educational programs. Initiates, develops, and maintains collaborative interactions with team members, patients, and families to improve outcomes. Ensures productivity and efficiency in daily operations.

Education

• Occupational Therapy Assistant - ALD

Certification/Licensure

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
• Occupational Therapy Assistant License (OTA)
