Job summary

Restore Therapy Services is seeking an Office Billing Specialist to support our outpatient practice. The role focuses on coordinating and auditing outpatient billing, verifying insurance, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting of all billing related documentation.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of customer service and data entry experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with Medicare billing is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with post-secondary education preferred.
  • Minimum two years in customer service or support and two years in data entry or computer-related work.
  • Experience with Medicare billing is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication and the ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, review, audit and conduct outpatient billing.
  • Ensure timely, accurate reporting of documentation, regulatory and insurance needs.
  • Verify insurance for outpatient patients and maintain billing deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly billing reports and conduct audits for accuracy.
  • Act as insurance liaison between patients, therapists and insurers.
  • Oversee outpatient intake, referrals and physician orders where needed.

Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:

To assist in the planning, organization and development of the Restore Therapy Services Outpatient practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of post-secondary education and able to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
  • Must be able to relate positively and professionally and work cooperatively with co-workers and vendors.
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and maintain flexibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office, including, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in a customer service and/or support role.
  • Must have at least (2) years’ experience in a data entry and or computer related role.
  • Experience with Medicare billing, preferred.
  • Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this position with or without accommodation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIOINS:
  • Coordinate, review/audit and conduct all Outpatient billing.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all required documentation, regulatory requirements, insurance requirements, patient information and billing
  • Insurance verification for Outpatient patients.
  • Ensure efficiency in department deadlines, while maintain and high level of accuracy within the billing system.
  • Document monthly data and statistics for leadership.
  • Process end of the month billing
  • Perform audits
  • Prepare and organize billing reports
  • Insurance liaison between patient, responsible parties, therapist and insurance companies.
  • Coordinate all Outpatient information including new patient letters, tracking logs, documentation requirements and patient information.
  • Will oversee all communication regarding payment for outpatient services for the patient. Including communication with families, administration, responsible party, patients and sponsor for any balances owed or not covered by insurance company.

  • Will coordinate and oversee outpatient intake, including referrals and physician orders.
  • Physician liaison
  • Quality assurance reviews, technical audits and medical record audits.
  • Management of the Medicare FISS system and daily updates and downloads.
  • Outpatient customer service.
  • Will be assisting with new implementations of processes and programs for the outpatient practice.
  • Class registration and communication support for wellness programs.
  • Trending for our outpatient practice and reporting for Board of Directors and state guidelines.
  • Follow up on referrals and residents identified from a corporate level.
  • Mail out marketing supplies as needed from Corporate to management/marketers.
  • Will help ensure that the outpatient billing adheres to the Company Code of Ethics and that the Compliance policy expectations are adhered to consistently.
  • Will report revenue analysis monthly.
  • Help coordinate Outpatient coverage when a Director of Operations needs assistance.
  • Outpatient support for Directors of Operations.
  • Skilled Nursing and contract billing support as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other Billing team members.
  • Must demonstrate individual initiative and problem solving skills
