Job summary

SeaView Community Services is seeking an Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinician to join our clinical team in Seward, Alaska. You will provide high-quality, person-centered behavioral health services in an outpatient setting, including assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based therapies.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and a current Alaska license (or eligibility to obtain).

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in social work, counseling, psychology, or closely related behavioral health field.
• Current professional license: LCSW, LMSW, LPC, or LMFT.
• Current Alaska license or ability to obtain Alaska licensure before starting.
• Ability to provide services within the scope of the professional license.
• Knowledge of behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy within scope of practice.
• Support clients with mental health, substance use, trauma-related, relational, and co-occurring concerns.
• Establish therapeutic relationships grounded in empathy, respect, cultural humility, and client-centered care.
• Regularly evaluate progress and update treatment plans based on outcomes.
• Complete compliant clinical documentation in a timely manner.
• Coordinate care with internal programs, schools, and community partners.
• Participate in supervision, case consultation, and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Provide crisis assessment, safety planning, and referrals for urgent needs.
• Maintain compliance with ethics, confidentiality, policies, and regulations.

SeaView Community Services is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and collaborative Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinician to join our clinical team. This position provides high-quality, person-centered behavioral health services to individuals and families in an outpatient setting. Position Responsibilities

The Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinician will:

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and participate in the development of individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy within the clinician’s professional scope of practice.
• Support clients experiencing mental health, substance use, trauma-related, relational, and co-occurring concerns.
• Establish therapeutic relationships grounded in empathy, respect, cultural humility, accountability, and client-centered care.
• Regularly evaluate client progress and update treatment plans based on clinical needs and treatment outcomes.
• Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
• Coordinate care with internal programs, healthcare providers, schools, referral sources, and other community partners when appropriate.
• Participate in clinical supervision, case consultation, multidisciplinary team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Provide crisis assessment, safety planning, and appropriate referrals when clients present with urgent behavioral health needs.
• Maintain compliance with professional ethics, confidentiality requirements, organizational policies, payer standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related behavioral health field.
• Current professional license as one of the following:
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)
• Current Alaska license or the ability to obtain Alaska licensure before beginning employment.
• Ability to provide services consistent with the scope and requirements of the applicable professional license.
• Knowledge of behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and clinical documentation.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and meet all applicable conditions of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing outpatient behavioral health services.
• Experience working with clients who have complex mental health, substance use, trauma-related, or co-occurring needs.
• Training in evidence-based or trauma-informed treatment approaches.
• Experience working in a rural, community-based, or integrated behavioral health setting.
• Familiarity with Medicaid documentation, medical necessity requirements, and electronic health records.
• Experience serving individuals and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
