Job Summary:
The Outpatient Administrative Specialist will primarily be responsible for scheduling EBUS, Robotic, flexible, and rigid bronchoscopies as well as other procedures within the OR and Endoscopy unit such as tracheal and bronchial stent placement, cryotherapy, valve replacement, thoracentesis, pleural catheter placement, percutaneous tracheostomy, etc. This role includes obtaining proper documentation and authorizations for all procedures and coordinating procedure plans with patients. The specialist will collect data as needed for quality and operations for the Interventional Pulmonologist group and provide outpatient procedure support to all physicians. Additionally, the Outpatient Administrative Specialist will assist as needed as a medical assistant within the clinic, rooming/screening patients, taking vitals, and reviewing medication lists. This individual will assist clinicians with exams and procedures under direct supervision, maintain and stock exam rooms, clean instruments/rooms, and handle incoming and outgoing work order referrals ordered by the physician, as well as chart prep. Responsibilities also include answering phones, checking mail, and checking in and out patients.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree or pertinent college-level courses and three years of administrative/office management experience preferably within the medical field. Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year of experience directly related to the medical field. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.

Salary Range: G4: $17.50 - $28.17
