Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is hiring entry-level and skilled trimmers and climbers for year-round outdoor work. We provide on-the-job training and a clear path to a career in the line clearance industry.

You will trim, top, and reshape trees to maintain safe clearance for power lines, perform pruning, operate basic tools, and work as part of a crew in all weather conditions. Full-time, non-exempt positions with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Must be able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces while handling equipment or material.
• Ability to obtain the knowledge to identify tree and shrub species.
• No fear of heights.
• Must have good hand-to-eye coordination.
• Willing and able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies, including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer lift truck, or from the ground using tools.
• Uses wedges, sledges, and chainsaws in felling trees or trimmed trunks and in cutting logs into pieces.
• Ability to operate and service all required tools/equipment.
• Ability to Plan, assign, direct, check, and coordinate work.
• Obtain permission from property owners to trim or remove trees and arrange access for work.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations through effective work execution.
• Feeds brush and debris into a woodchipper.
• Loads/unloads trucks and maintains site cleanliness.
• Relays hand signals, directs traffic, and operates trucks and equipment as needed.
• Trains and assists new employees.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Entry-level position, no experience required

Previous experience is a plus
