Summary of Functions

Prepares, seasons, and cooks soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and specialty dishes to provide high-quality food and guest service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with tribe policies and procedures.
  • Perform various cooking methods following recipes and control procedures.
  • Prepare and display food to specifications.
  • Assist in preparing specialty dishes.
  • Rotate food products daily to ensure quality.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines per FDA and HACCP standards.
  • Conduct quality control checks before, during, and after production.
  • Review kitchen operations for improvements.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Be available to work flexible hours as needed.

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

  • At least one year of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with high-volume cooking is helpful.

Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other computer software.
  • Problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Mathematical skills related to food preparation.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Employment contingent upon background check clearance.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tribal Work Permit.
  • WA Food Handler Permit within 14 days of start.
  • Hepatitis A & B vaccinations required.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands

  • Lift/move objects over 80 pounds.
  • Able to communicate clearly and discriminate sounds.
  • Work with fingers and perform repetitive movements.
  • Walk, stand, ascend/descend stairs, and handle objects as needed.
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Exposure to tobacco smoke, mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. Mostly indoor environment with some outside exposure. Noise level is moderate.
