Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is seeking a District Sign Specialist to install and maintain highway signs across the district. The role is outdoor and physically active, with training provided and no experience required initially.

Position may be filled as District Sign Specialist 1; licensure (Louisiana Class D Chauffeur's) may be required before start. Compensation begins at 17.18 USD hourly, with potential for shift, night work, and overtime.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.
• Possession of a Louisiana Class D Chauffeur's License (or CDL) may be required depending on assignment.
• Outdoor, physically active role with varying weather, shift work, night work, overtime, travel or emergencies.

Responsabilités

• Installs, replaces, repairs, and maintains signs along state highways per MUTCD and DOTD specs.
• Completes daily work and material usage reports; ensures trucks have needed materials and equipment.
• Sets out traffic control devices and assists with temporary traffic control and incident layouts.
• Assists in preventative maintenance of Portable Changeable Message Signs (PCMS).
• May perform other duties including emergency/disaster support as needed.
