Job summary

The Santa Cruz County Office of Education is looking for an Outdoor Science Instructor to lead an interdisciplinary curriculum for fifth and sixth graders in a camp setting. The position starts in September 2026 and continues until early June, requiring a commitment of approximately 145 work days.

This full-time role includes responsibilities such as training high school leaders and ensuring engaging outdoor learning experiences. There are both competitive salary rates and benefits, including dental and vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Three years of related experience working with youth in outdoor settings.
• Valid and current First Aid (minimum is WFA) and CPR certification.
• Bilingual educators are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interdisciplinary science field study curriculum for fifth and sixth graders.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate high school Cabin Leaders.
• Conduct evening activities and camp experiences.
