Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) in Cheyenne Wells is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist to perform road upkeep and operate heavy machinery. You will work in a field crew, be on-call for weather and emergencies, and contribute to a safe, efficient highway system.

Qualifications

• Two years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow.
• Operate heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders, tractors.
• Mow grass and weeds.
• Remove debris from roadways including rock, mud and animals.
• Remove debris from culverts, tunnels, etc.
• Shovel gravel, sand, concrete and asphalt.
• Install and repair guardrail, signs and lighting.
• Set out signs and cones for traffic control.
• Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Follow safety guidance and wear proper safety equipment.

Education

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B
