State of Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), seeks a Roadside Development Herbicide Applicator for Rapides Parish. The role involves mobile equipment operation outdoors, applying herbicides with proper safety and equipment, and adhering to label regulations.

Training is provided and career growth opportunities exist within public service. The position offers hands-on work with possible shift work, overtime, and travel, reporting to the Highway Foreman 1.

Competenze

• Two years of experience in mobile equipment operations is required.
• Outdoor, physically active role with varying weather conditions.

Mansioni

• Operate spray truck or spray equipment with protective gear as needed.
• Attend meetings and training on herbicide application.
• Maintain highway roadside and vegetation through proper herbicide use.
• Maintain vegetation at bridge railings, signs, and drainage structures with herbicides.
• Select and apply appropriate herbicides per label requirements.
• Assess weather, wind, and topography to determine spray conditions.
• Operate equipment to apply herbicides at the correct rate per label.
